Pontoon over the Arroyo de la Vid

Pontoon over the Arroyo de la Vid

A 19th-century bridge with a pointed arch and ashlar masonry, ideal for admiring historic architecture in a natural setting.
It consists of a pointed arch with a span of 8.10 m and a rise of 1.60 m. The spandrel, the architraves and the impost are built of ashlar, whilst the tympanums and side walls are of rubble masonry. The clear width across the arch is 6.60 m. It was built in the 19th century to improve access across the stream, which had previously been via the bridge described in entry 16, and remained in use until it was replaced by a new bridge in the 1960s.
