Rows of parapets offer panoramic views of the reservoir and scenic routes towards the port of Miravete and the River Almonte, making them ideal for tourism.
The surviving rows of parapets are mainly concentrated in the abandoned section that runs parallel to the water’s surface of the Torrejón-Tajo reservoir, and on the ascent to the Miravete pass and the descent to the River Almonte. In most cases, these are not the original parapets; they have a curved top and are taller and longer.
