Bridge over the Arroyo de la Vid

Bridge over the Arroyo de la Vid

A historic bridge with two arches and a triangular cutwater, which is often submerged, ideal for lovers of architecture and military history.
A two-arch bridge, of the ‘donkey’s back’ type, with a triangular cutwater. It was built around 1640, during the War of Portugal, to facilitate the movement of troops. It was replaced by a second bridge in the 19th century. Due to its elevation and its location at the far end of the Cantaelgallo-Jaraicejo reservoir, it is usually submerged.
