The Rivera Bridge in Huelva

The Rivera Bridge in Huelva

A historic bridge with five semicircular arches and pointed spandrels, ideal for admiring classical architecture in picturesque surroundings.
According to Madoz, it was built during the reign of Charles IV to replace an earlier structure that had fallen into complete ruin. It consists of five semicircular arches with ashlar spandrels and pointed ashlar buttresses. The deck was widened as part of the improvement works on the National Circuit for Special Surfaces, using slabs and uprights supported by the buttresses. The bottom support of one of the railings still bears an inscription relating to the Circuit.
